Bluetooth tuning for Bosch Gen4 motor with Smart System + Rim Magnet

SpeedBox 1.3 B.Tuning for Bosch connects your e-bike with your phone via Bluetooth and removes the speed limiter on your e-bike.

The actual speed and complete ride data are shown correctly in the SpeedBox App right on your phone.

How does SpeedBox 1.3 B.Tuning for Bosch work?

After installing the tuning, if your e-bike runs older firmware, enter the menu the first time you power the bike on and navigate to the wheel circumference setting to initialize all SpeedBox functions.

Activate/deactivate the tuning only when standing still — never during riding!

You can activate SpeedBox 1.3 B.Tuning in the mobile app or directly on the e-bike control unit by briefly activating the WALK assist (hold the “-” button). The display will show 3.5 km/h (2.2 mph) and assistance will be unlocked up to 35 km/h. You can set your own speed limit up to 99 km/h, but we recommend not exceeding 35 km/h to minimize the risk of error codes.

To deactivate the tuning, briefly activate WALK again (hold the “-” button). The display will show 2.5 km/h (1.6 mph) and the 25 km/h limit will be restored. The e-bike will then work as before installation.

For e-bikes without an enabled WALK function, you can activate/deactivate the tuning by switching between two assistance modes twice (- + - +).

You can set the maximum speed limit by switching modes from TURBO three levels down and then three levels up: eMTB – TOUR+ – ECO – TOUR+ – eMTB – TURBO. The current limit will be displayed. You can also switch the limit by briefly activating WALK or by turning the rear wheel 360°. 2.5 km/h = 25 km/h, 3.0 = 30 km/h, 3.5 = 35 km/h, etc. The last displayed limit is saved after 15 seconds of inactivity.

After finishing the ride, leave the bike on until 0.0 km/h is displayed continuously. The remaining time is shown during this process. Then you can safely turn the bike off. Do not remove the display to lock the bike until the countdown has finished.

SpeedBox App for SpeedBox 1.3 B.Tuning

The SpeedBox App connects your e-bike and phone via Bluetooth to display live data and ride parameters. You can save individual rides, compare results with friends, and track your performance.

SpeedBox B.Tuning works without the app, but the app gives you a complete overview. Before ordering, download the app to try the demo and check compatibility. Your phone needs Bluetooth 4.0 or higher.

Assembly

We use original connectors to ensure simple installation and correct connection. Detailed instructions and videos are available. Disassembly is just as easy. If you encounter any issues, contact us.

If installing on a brand-new bike, ride at least 10 km before activating the tuning.

Important

Connect the male–female connectors in the lock direction. Do not rotate the connectors during connection!

Warning

We strongly recommend using protective gear and safety features. Do not update your e-bike firmware — updates increase the risk of tuning detection. Disable automatic updates in the eBike Flow App. If you lose your service password or PIN, you can use our recovery service here.

For short stops, keep one foot on the pedal so the countdown does not start. For longer stops, allow at least a partial countdown. After long rides the countdown may take several minutes. Do not remove the display until the countdown has finished.

We recommend not exceeding 35 km/h.
