Key features

SpeedBox 3.0 is a smart third-generation tuning chip with an option to set your own speed limit for e-bikes with Bafang Max Drive motors with a 3 pin connector. You can check the number of pins in your connector on the image in the Printed manual section below. It removes the 25 km/h speed limit so you can enjoy riding at unlimited speed, while the display keeps showing real values such as maximum and average speed, daily mileage and cruising range.

Inside the product package you will find a printed manual including a wiring diagram for connecting the chip to the motor. The second image shows the 3 pin connector, so you can check your motor before buying

Tuning control

You activate the tuning directly on the e-bike's display. After pressing the LIGHT button or the ↑↓↑↓ combination, the display shows a value of 99 km/h (62 mph) and from that moment on you can ride at an unlimited speed.
You deactivate the tuning by pressing the LIGHT button or ↑↓↑↓ again — the display will show 25 km/h (16 mph), the speed limit resets to 25 km/h and the e-bike works the same as before the tuning was installed.

Setting a custom speed limit

You can set the maximum assistance speed by switching the modes three levels down and then three levels up.
The current speed limit will then appear on the display. You switch the limit by briefly pressing the LIGHT button or by turning the rear wheel 360°.
The last displayed limit is saved after 5 seconds of inactivity.

Installation may also void your e-bike warranty.

If you are going to update your e-bike software, uninstall SpeedBox first, update the software and then reinstall SpeedBox.
